Plan Your Flooring Installation
Clear scope makes it easier to compare estimates and plan your project. Here are the questions we discuss with Northern Utah homeowners.
What Affects an Installation Estimate?
The selected material and room size are only part of the work. Existing-floor removal, subfloor condition, moisture requirements, stairs, trim and transitions can change the scope. Tell us what material you have, which rooms are included and what needs to be removed. Estimates are free.
Why Does Subfloor Preparation Matter?
Flooring products have flatness and moisture requirements. Reviewing the surface first helps us plan corrections, approved underlayment and the installation layout. In Cottonwood Heights, we added screws to help reduce squeaking before installing the new floor.
LVP, Laminate or Engineered Wood?
LVP uses vinyl construction; laminate commonly has a wood-based core and decorative wear surface; engineered hardwood has a real-wood surface. Product specifications, moisture conditions and your preferred appearance guide the choice. A water-resistant product does not make the whole room waterproof.
Already Bought Your Flooring?
Send the product name, instructions, quantity and room photos. We’ll review compatibility, layout, preparation and finishing details. In Draper, the homeowner handled removal before our installation; your estimate should clearly say who is responsible for each step.
Repair or Replace?
Photos, damage location and matching material help determine the options. A limited repair may depend on having compatible spare planks. Explore plank replacement after appliance delivery and flooring replacement after water damage. Flooring repair does not include water extraction, drying or mold treatment.
Planning Stairs
Count the stairs, include landings and photograph the current finish. Product-compatible nosings, transitions and existing conditions need review. Explore Stair Flooring →
